Mambo Schinki
Luxembourg's funniest solo artist ! A mash-up machine: he can do everything,
mixes everything and when it's ready, it's delicious. Everybody dances,
everybody smiles happily. Mambo Schinki is the ecstasy of the orgiastic organist,
he is a pocket firework among one-man bands, the god of the keyboard.
When Mambo smashes his spacecraft-sized parlor organ and plays a medley of
all the decades of pop and rock music, there's no stopping. Everyone sings,
laughs and dances. Guaranteed. Let yourself be convinced!

TUYS
The boys behind TUYS - Luxembourgish indie band - formed the band at the age of
ten and quickly made it their dominant daydream. They are an odd boyband singing
in three voices while being in love with driving synths and energetic psych-rock.
Their upcoming songs applaud those who dare to dream, those who taste all the
forbidden fruits, recklessly indulge in love, risk suffering in pursuit of ecstasy - those
who live. We, at Koll an Aktioun, know we dare to dream, how about you??

Trappers
Trappers is a Luxembourgish Band founded in 2015. Before they turned to their current
style of a rock composition from the 60s and 70s, their music was inspired by American
country and folk music. Since their participation in the music competition Rock the South
(Petange) in 2016, they managed to draw the public’s attention to their music. In the
same year, they played on bigger festivals like the Food for your Senses (Luxembourg).
The band combines nostalgia and modernity to a melodic direction never seen before in
the music scene of Luxembourg.

TOPS
Since 2011, TOPS, Montreal's fashionable four-piece has become one of the most
influential underground bands of the past decade, creating a space for sophisticated
pop music in the indie world. Their trademark sound of captivating melodies over
soft-rock grooves, with touches of ’80s sophisti-pop and a contemporary
experimental palette has gotten bolder over the years. Their 2020 album ‘I Feel
Alive’, is about the ways we can grow from for our pain and learn how to stand on
our own. Being one of our headliners this year, we can’t wait to welcome them at
KaA2020.

People Club
People Club was founded in Berlin in 2018. The five members moved to Berlin from the
USA, New Zealand, Australia and the UK to make music. This diversity is reflected in
their unique fusion of classic soul and dreamy indie pop. In their songs they take up
topics such as sexism, addiction and fear and use their music as a platform for
education and empowerment.

Nicool
"Do what you want, not what you’re supposed to do" is the motto of young
Luxembourg artist Nicool. The young woman’s goal is to produce rap songs that
contain a message in order to give a new perspective to people. Her style is
humorous, straightforward and honest. What matters most in her way of writing is the
rhyme, which she integrates through her very own scheme.

MY BABY
Dutch-Kiwi band MY BABY, made up of siblings Cato and Joost van Dijck and Daniel
(de Vries) Johnston, create a unique hypnotic fusion of blues, folk, gospel, funk,
African desert blues and EDM. It’s electronic dance music, but without the
electronics. Cato the frontwoman on vocals and bass, all power and raw sensuality,
Joost on drums and Daniel on guitar, they’ve created a genre of their own. They love
to exchange energy with their audience so let’s show them what energy in
Luxembourg feels like at this year’s KaA!

Mutiny on the bounty
Groovy rhythms, guitar acrobatics and wild live shows are some of the words that might cross
your mind when thinking about Mutiny On The Bounty. The band has been showcasing their unique
sound touring with acts such as And So I Watch You From Afar and TTNG and supporting acts like,
Biffy Clyro or The Fall Of Troy, whilst playing some of the biggest festivals in the world such as
Roskilde, Melt!, Fusion, SXSW and Primavera. 2020 sees the release of new material, always with that
special twist and aroma that undeniably makes each song a Mutiny On the Bounty song. Don’t miss out
on them at this year’s Koll an Aktioun Festival!

Hannah Ida
Writing songs about her surroundings, love, sadness, fear, happiness, society and
the challenges of our time, Hannah Ida, young Luxembourgish artist Hannah Grevis,
releases her music under the name Hannah Ida. Very much inspired by singer
songwriters like Alice Phoebe Lou or Laura Marling, she includes various elements
into her calm melancholic indie/folk sounds. She loves to use music as a medium of
communication and her love for poetry & language enables her to transform feelings
through her songwriting into a personal art form.

DRIFE
DRIFE are a 6-piece rock'n'roll band from the north of Luxembourg who have been
well-known since their gigs in last years gigs all along the grad duchy. Initially started
as a jam session project, they soon felt the need to write their own music resulting in a
number of first songs.
The musical style can be widely described as Alternative Rock, Britpop and Indie Rock,
influenced by artists such as The Stone Roses, Ride, The Verve, Oasis, The Beatles and
many more. Don’t miss out their electric guitar-driven up-tempo tracks as well as more
quiet, acoustic pieces, enriched by a violin.

blackwave.
Since starting their journey together in 2016, the Belgium based hip hop duo
blackwave. has continuously and successfully been dropping singles, securing them
spots at renowned festivals like Pukklepop, Couleur Café, Rock Werchter or
Montreux Jazz. Rapper Jay Atohoun and singer-producer Willem Ardui, set
themselves apart with an open-minded approach to hip hop, blending in different
influences like soul, funk, jazz and pop. Having released their first album ‘ARE WE
STILL DREAMING’ at the end of 2019, they’ll headline Koll an Aktioun 2020 and we
can’t wait to welcome them and their Jazz Band on stage!

Yoga-Interlude
For the Koll an Aktioun a mix of exercises targeting strength, movement, balance and relaxation
will be proposed by Marierose Frank. (In 2016 Marierose Frank completed her training at Yoga
Vidya in Bad Meinberg and since the beginning of 2020 she has been giving yoga classes for
climbers in Mersch).

La Petite Troupe d’À Côté
If you are looking for improvisation performances in Luxembourg, la Petite Troupe
d´À Côté is (French for ‘the small group from nearby’) is, as the name suggests,
never far away. This year, we are pleased to welcome this small group of friends
who love to have fun on stage, at Koll an Aktioun. Let them entertain you, it will be
fun!

Zero Point Five
From Luxembourg all over the world and back. In their music Zero Point Five combines several
sounds. The style, which the band defines as pop, folk or country, comes from unusual instruments
like the banjo or the mandolin. In their show, Zero Point Five takes the audience on a world tour, this
year they also do it at the Koll an Aktioun. Enjoy the show even if it takes place without a space
shuttle.

Wave of the Moon
Riding in a wave and then on the moon sounds like a great performance. You can ride that wave with
Wave of the Moon. This indie-pop-rock gives you peaceful ideas, music that is suitable for deeper
thoughts. The incomparable voice of the singer allows you to immerse yourself in your thoughts and
enjoy the music.

The Brums
You like the rhythmic sounds of the drums and at the same time you don't want to miss the clear
sound of the brass instruments? Then don't miss the Belgian band The Brums. The mix of electro, jazz
and other styles will certainly make you feel good. The different instruments harmonize in perfect
unity and provide a good atmosphere of the Koll an Aktioun.

PABST
In an era where grunge has been marginalized into a fashion statement, PABST
revitalize the genre with elements of noise-rock, stoner-rock and R&B. This year the
trio from Berlin is bringing its edgy guitar riffs and hard drums, its innovative &
modern sound to Luxembourg. PABST is the definition of suburban coolness; only
half-sexy but probably the best you can get with red eyes and water in your ears (in
reference to their first album called "Chlorine").

Hunneg-Strëpp
Since 2017, Hunneg-Strëpp breaks with the old-fashioned image that a wind band
only plays traditional compositions. The young band loves to surprise its audience
with unexpected covers of songs and stop at nothing: from Hip-Hop to Rock as well
as Pop, 90s Eurodance and classic "Evergreens". Without ever denying their origins
- the Harmonie Kleinbettingen - the 9 amateur musicians also play several traditional
luxembourgish songs.
There are no limits and only one goal: to make people dance to new Brass Beats!

Alfalfa
Charel Geimer and Bert Jung have been making music together for more than a
decade now. In 2018, the two started a new project and are musically evolving on
new paths with Alfalfa. They describe their music as electro pop with innovative
elements, easy to listen music that fills the listener with good feelings. 2020 will be
an exciting year for the group with new music coming out and we’re already excited
to discover the new songs!

ÆM
ÆM is a recent electronic dream pop project by Luxembourg based
singer/songwriter Ema, who won the 2018 edition of the Screaming Field Song
Contest. ÆM‘s debut single “city ties” is about an individual who is consumed by
his/her life in the city, escaping to another world. Her dreamy vocals and child-like
lyrics will embark you on a dreamy ride through her universe.
Influenced by all kinds of artists, genres and subgenres, ÆM is most importantly
always evolving and looking for something new.

Markusen
Marcos Andreu-Gasol aka Markusen, multi-instrumentalist, showman & songwriter,
is bringing his One-Man-Show to this year’s Koll an Aktioun. Markusen’s
arrangements encompass moments of ‘low tech’ dance music, hypnotic time
signatures and street performance, delivered real-time across his unique
constellation of acoustic and percussive instruments. Its hypnotic and organic groove
not only makes his audience watch and listen fascinated - it also makes them dance.

D’Glühschwéngchen
On Saturday, Rosalie Maes will do a reading for children up to 6 years, letting them
into the colorful world of a tiny glow-pig. After having been a little too long under the
warm red light the little pig was all glowy and nobody wanted to play with her. When
she hears that it is cold where the penguins live, she wants to go there. On the way,
she meets a man who looks like a penguin and who wants to help her, but an
unpleasant surprise is waiting for her! An exciting story that children won’t get
enough of.

IKAN HYU (CHE)
Elastic Plastic Space Power Gangster Future Pop.
That’s how the explosive duo IKAN HYU, 2 musicians from Winterthur / Zurich,
describes their own music. Fox & Mojo let the usual band dynamic wash away by
being both frontwomen while playing up to 3 instruments at once. With synthesizing
deep basses, sharp guitar riffs, breakthrough drum beats, vocals and rap, the duo
gets the world to dance. 2 power women at Koll an Aktioun 2020, we can’t wait to
meet them in person!

Gypsy Ska Orquesta (VEN)
Born & raised in Caracas (Venezuela), the members of the Gypsy Ska Orquesta also
formed their band there. Meanwhile, the 7 no longer live in South America, but are
scattered around the world, which makes the production of their music more
interesting, but also harder. The desire to continue their musical adventures is
however greater than any distance, and in this way, they continue to compose and
play their music (a combo of musical styles such as Cumbia, Swing, Punk and
Gypsy music). In May, the musicians gather at Koll an Aktion, bringing their music,
good humor, energy and the typical South American flair to Luxembourg.

Golden Dawn Arkestra (US)
The Golden Dawn Arkestra is more than just a band. For millions of years it has been traveling
through space and the members have been gathering forces to save the planet. The means: dance,
costumes and a wild mix of funk, psychedelic, space punk, disco and soul. The band's earthly home is
Texas, but the disciples are spread all over the world. Get ready for a truly new experience!

Friedberg
Friedberg, a group of four women who came together in London in 2018, is making a name for itself
with its unique sound. The Alternative-Indie-Band experiments with different sounds: Sometimes a
cowbell gives the rhythm of a song, sometimes the voice is distorted by microphones. The singer got
these ideas in California, where she was inspired by being isolated in a nature park.

Parent and Kid Yoga Session
Have you always wanted to experience yoga with your child? This workshop gives you the
opportunity to play with your child in a new way, to feel a different way of supporting and
connecting with them. Whether parents or children, everyone will have the opportunity to move the
body in a fun and challenging way. Aim of the workshop: to start trusting your body and movements,
especially for the little ones.

Un Vache de Manège et son Orgameuh
A funny herd of cows comes to settle at Koll an Aktioun 2020 to take the whole family to the
alps! The children climb on the back of extraordinary cows and their parents will have to
milk a life-size cow to provide the energy needed to run this artistic carousel. A dreamlike
ride accompanied by the sounds of the Orgameuh, a unique organ, completely integrated into
the skeleton of a bull! Most probably, this carousel is unlike any you’ve seen before.

Ernesto
Famous, fabulous, salute the great Maestro of juggling: Ernesto. Whether he's juggling apples, pears
or oranges, whether he's having a fantastic picnic, this man knows how to create circus moments. In
his magic case you will find the complete equipment for a journey between art and imagination. Be
inspired by his drawing and calligraphy skills when he opens his mobile studio with the unforgettable
name: Letrologia Fantastica!

Dj Frietmachine
From the Netherlands to Koll an Aktioun! DJ Frietmachine makes potatoes dance!
You don’t believe us? Come see for yourselves: DJ Frietmachine is the most
swinging potato-installation that exists. He observes, weights, measures and
examines if you are grounded with your potato. If you are, he‘ll play you a greasy
tune, whilst your French Fries are baking. Hungry? Potato ready, Record ready, fries
ready! Let’s go!

De Kapitän Mullebutz a seng Séisswaassermatrousen
The big musical party for kids from 4-8 years goes into the next round.
Captain Mullebutz and his freshwater sailors return from their travels and bring
songs from all over the world to the Koll an Aktioun 2020. All the little pirates in the
audience will be invited to sing, dance and hop along when the well-known pop&rock
songs are being presented in their Luxembourgish versions.
We’re waiting for them to drop the anchor in Martelange! It’s going to be so much
fun!

D’Gëlle Fraen
Who's ready to jump back into the days of the silent movies, Boas and the Flapper
Girls? A time of the most entertaining music that instantly puts you into a good mood!
Inspired by "The Stars Ladies Orchestra", in which Luxembourgish saxophonist
Laure Koster played in Antwerp in the 1920s, Nadine Kauffmann (saxophone), Lynn
Orazi (piano), Nancy Schlammes (percussion) ) and Martine Conzemius
(Pantomime), teamed up to perform as a Luxembourgish Women's Orchestra
including elements of dance, slapstick and pantomime into their program.

Champagne
Have you always dreamed of pulling a tablecloth without anything moving, of doing that great
tablecloth trick? With Champagne you can finally make this dream come true. Champagne is a
walking animation for one or two waiters artists handling everyday objects. You can finally try all
kinds of juggling that you didn't dare to do before. Try it out!

B.V. Natuur
To fight climate change, it is important to continually plant new trees. If only they
didn't take years and years to grow! Aat & Karl bring the solution to Koll an Aktioun
2020! In 30 minutes and with the help of their crane on their small old VW van, they
put up a big tree.To distract from all the small obstacles they encounter during the
works, the two Dutch artists play with elements of comedy and dancing, which leads
to a fun show for young and old.

En attendant Kyoto
Max Vandervorst invites the public to walk or sit around his forest-like installation,
while listening to unique sounds that he creates by playing on self-invented
instruments (coal guitar, handlebar flute or violin with nails). His sound installation
pays homage to the Kyoto Protocol, an international treaty signed in 1997, aimed at
reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Twenty years later, the process of global
warming hardly seems to have changed. As his installation suggests, the ice on the
poles continues to melt inexorably...
